It's 5.30 in the wee hour of the day and I'm still alive and kickin'. One of the things that I have learnt over the years is the optional consumption of certain chemicals to produce a desired effect to the body. It could be that goddamned crystalline xanthine alkaloid, which, for the sake of pomposity, is actually non other than your regular caffein in a cup of coffee. But still, my long standing policy remains that of the preservation of my bodily health, in that, I wouldn't want to contaminate my blood with some foreign substance that would somewhere down the road portray enmity towards the host it inhabits.

Today is obviously an exception. I drank those alkaloids up. In Gallons.

But fret not, fellow humans - this isn't how I plan to leave this world. In fact, this is so as to ensure another smooth continuation of the journey of a wandering soul. Nothing to do with the capital of South Korea, mind you, but rather, a yet another homo sapienistic show I'm sure you can bring yourself to be appreciative of at any other blog page.

The journey to the East begins today. The hurdles are many, and time is limited.

A truckload of assignment to knuckle down to, and due to be completed by noon. Should that not be the case, the infamous German red snake that is supposed to transport me and my compatriots to our flying Garuda is going to roll without me. Think of the terra-pascal pressure that is currently being self-induced.

Wait... My body is turning green. Could it be that I am now turning into a.. a hulk.. hulk ho.. hulk ho.. hohoho.

Haha!! I'm coming home Malaysia!!

p/s = i'm glad to come home to see you ppl, to see malaysia. i'm boarding a MAS frankfurt-kl direct flight tomorrow noon. to board the garuda with my two Biberacher juniors cum fellow criminals Flip and Shiva as well as a Weingartener guy Yusri.

Find it difficult to swallow deluded reasoning based on false arguments. They give me headaches.

Remains unsaid because it was already said.

Know where the levers are and make them useful.

Memory constitutes almost everything that we live for.

The finest emerges out of the worst.

Those against an established set of rules suffer, but they'll be the trigger for an unprecedented chain of reactions.

I have too huge a shame to state the celestial motivation that drives us all.

Look into the past and realize the enormity of the number of times this thing has been done.

Something out of nothing, thus values are created.

It was either produced over time or by some sort of creative mechanism. Remember, iii equals em cee square.

Revolting. Immature. Repulsive.

We could've been living in a matrix.

Pretty meaningless. But fret not, we've always given meaning to everything.

Was not trained as one, but we constantly judge as we think.

Too different to be a match. Too many choices.

Zu kompliziert und trotzdem machbar.

Travelling is supposed to be a learning experience. Not just to upload some pretty pictures onto Facebook, you idiot.

Cultural and moral relativism.

I can feel that there's a big interest going on about this one Malaysian personality at the moment.

Not gonna blog often but not gonna put a dot to it either. Just trying to strike a balance.

I want to go to bed.

Finally, I bought my flight ticket home! And with Malaysia Airlines some more lah. Didn't expect I could fly with the airliner at this bargain price - 660 Euro for a return ticket. Plus, there's no transit...! Usually Malaysia Airlines would rank among the more expensive ones, so students normally would make do with Emirates. I consider myself lucky. :)

I read at Ariff's blog about AirAsia summoning people to name their upcoming new Airbus planes. So I went over to their site and decided to make my pitch. I made 2 suggestions actually, and if I were Tony Fernandes, I would certainly pick one out of the two which I think embodies everything that AirAsia wanted its aircrafts to be: Xperiential.

The thrill of winning is not so bad. They would immortalise your name on the body and inside of the plane along with the X-Factor name. I wish, I wish... Haha.. Otherwise gotta wait till the day you own your own aircraft.

Or should I say, pluralistic Malaysia, if not for the purpose of placing a title that rhymes on my part.

The word 'race' itself brings with it an intricate connotation, for with such a word, you are trying divide people into groups, into factions. And as far as I know, that is the worst thing in the world because much of the atrocities that took place in the history of mankind has been as a result of confrontations between two or more parties who claimed themselves to be different. In what ways? They'd say, in many ways.

What more can we expect from those whose hearts and minds are filled with hatred, greed, and delusion - leaving no way for a rational discussion. War: is the ultimate culmination to resolve their differences, where the law of the jungle applies.

So you see, Malaysia has a unique place in the world, where it is one of the few countries with substantial minority populations trying to foster harmony into the lives of its people. It is a delicate balance, when people are not only divided by the colours of their skin, but also by the flavours of their faith.

The situation is not even comparable to that of the United States, the self-acclaimed paragon of success in the co-existentialism of blacks, whites, browns, greens and yellows... because after all, the differences generally lie in colours. And the situation is not even comparable to India of Ghandis days... because after all, the differences generally lie in creeds.

Clearly, the difference in faith has far greater consequences than skin colors, for faith brings with it the baggage of cultural practices, the very soul of a people. It has split the nation of India, with the same skin colour, but of different creeds, into a separate realm that we now know as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; even the appeals of Gandhi has failed to unite the Indians.

Thus the enormity of a post-independent Malayan demographics was not to be underestimated. The British prediction that the newly formed state will end up failing was not without basis.

In a relatively short period of time, a huge number of people, from completely different backgrounds, had appeared in droves to live together with an already deep-rooted society. Surely, it would not be easy on the stomachs of the so-called natives. The Chinese mostly had come from Southern China while the Indians mostly from British Madras, both with their own cultures, both with their own faiths, and both with their own languages. They left behind the miseries of their former homelands and now looking for a better life abroad, Malaya. To the Malays, all seemed too alien and too sudden for them to swallow.

For a moment, the future looked bleak, and the differences of the Malayan populations seemed almost impossible to resolve.

In an independent Malaya, the Chinese and Indians were granted full citizenship. It was the fruit of a naturally tolerant and peaceful people, the Malays, who were unaware of what was to come. They initiated co-operation with the leaders of the settling immigrants in the newly formed Malaya. Not bad for a start, since everyone felt, that, co-operation was the essence to peace and harmony in a fragile state of infancy.

Fast forward to modern day Malaysia, as it is now called, with Sabah and Sarawak in the picture.

The co-operational relationship between the people can be likened to the period of courtship. Like most relationships, we have gone through a lot of trouble along the way. That ugly catfight in May 1969, for instance. But it has been an almost 52 years long romance between us in the first place in the peninsular, and 46 between us as a whole. And it is high time now that the marriage proposal for this long overdued courtship should come, the proposal for a united Malaysia.

But still, there are a number of issues that have to be addressed, you know, if divorce was to be prevented, that is. The first issue would be the still in existence vernacular education in Malaysia. It is clearly sabotaging, as in detrimental to the unity of Malaysians. Inculcation of constructive values is most easy to work on kids rather than on senile citizens.

As partners, Malaysians should be speaking one language, practising one culture, and if possible, literally intermarry to produce breeds with a new skin colour. Haha.

Pepatah pujangga ada mengatakan;

Cut the crap already!

Hahaha. Pastu siap nak kutuk lagi kata tempat aku takde go-kart pasal Biberach ni memang ada unsur-unsur kekampungan sikit pun (no problem). Aku pun apa lagi nak mengerek la kata aku tak payah training, datang untuk lumba time pertandingan je. Hahaha.

Saya suka filem-filem Afdlin Shauki, terutamanya Sumolah.

In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock. - Thomas Jefferson
Well I think we could use some of the wisdom of this man that is Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd president of the United States. I fully agree with what Mr. Jefferson here had to say.

He aptly implied that to a certain amount, there is a need to "camouflage" among the norms set by civil society through being with them. This however is followed by a subtle yet bold call to discriminate when it comes to dealing with the pressures of conforming to societal norms. As civilized human beings, we are without question bound to follow a certain set of rules and regulations passed down to us from generation to generation. Being content to stay within the line is described as "loyalty", while going one step further means "betrayal".

But being one single individual - weak, hopeless, vulnerable - whom with mere both hands alone cannot effect a change... others' might is a desperation for. Hence the necessity for an overall impression of loyalty. Do otherwise, lo and behold!, resentment awaits.

Loyalty to the tribe happens where there is a triumph of survival. But for the tribe not to regress and move forward, it needs at least one member with the streak of a criminal who has enough audacity to be labelled as a betrayer. He who is so, is a man of himself.

A rebel.

Status : masih hidup lagi selepas musim peperiksaan berakhir.

(Bodoh!)

I'm glad to know that there are people who do not need a reason to do blogging. This type of people are happy at what they are doing, i.e. blogging, and I guess there's nothing that could stop them from doing so, well, unless, they are PAID not to blog, perhaps. :) Why not, blogging is free, and if its like a second nature to be typing away your thoughts freely, and you enjoy it, why stop. Anyway, my topic of babbling this time around is going to be something lame, which is, the reason as to why I blog.

On the contrary to the people I've just mentioned, I am an introvert (bla bla bla n proud of it), and that means I don't talk much, which consequently means, there is no way I would do talking as a hobby. Ho ho. But my blogging motivation stems from the very need of a healthy emotion and psychology. So, even if I don't need to talk that much to keep myself sane, albeit a bit, I do need a certain amount of self-expression to balance out this solitariness. I could spend days and days without talking to anybody, but please, blogging is my survival mechanism.

Realistically speaking, someone doesn't need a far-reaching readership to do this. It would do more harm than good to have too many people who you don't even know of to be making judgments on the person that you are. To be prejudiced against is a risk when people who do not know you close enough personally begin to have all of these preconceived notions about yourself, be it desirably good or otherwise. And if you are a social misfit, maybe like me, you could easily mislead people into understanding you wrongly. But lets say the reader really really knows you, then it wouldn't have been a point of contention at all and you would be pardoned instantly. I hope so.

But to be fair, that's not to be used as an excuse to prevent complete strangers from reading our oh so precious blog, isn't it. What ever happened to the non-individualistic Asian values that promote "friendliness", "altruism", and "tolerance"? That's where people deserve a chance. We as well deserve a chance to broaden the prospect of our acquaintances.

I think the role of blogging has turned to become somewhat ever more important these days. Once, it was merely used as a medium of exchange at the personal level, as diaries, but as it turned out, blogs are nowadays the movers and shakers of events. People can write lies in blogs, and governments change. Blogs now also serve as a new battlefield to those who consider words as mighty powerful bullets in their waging of ideological wars. Who would win, and who would lose.

In the meanwhile, pleased to know some of my friends have either joined or rejoined the blogging sphere: Ariff, Akie, Yuyu. Sometimes its the people that matter. In the parlance of the day, you feel 'em. Welcome (back).

"Gendang gendut tali kecapi, kenyang perut suka hati."

This music video reminds me of one of our more interesting memories during our trip to Italy. Meeting new people from different cultures while travelling certainly is what most travellers would look forward to any day. So in our case, we happened to meet 2 Brazilian jewish guys and a Korean girl at the youth hostel lobby we stayed at in Florence. We were surfing the net on wi-fi when suddenly all of these awesome conversations took place. The guys were trying to explain to us about what being a Jew means. The Korean girl, obviously clueless, and in her broken English said, "Oh... Muslim?" "No, no, no. It's the opposite.", remarked the guy in jest, who later said he has no problem with Muslims. And then I told the Korean just how popular Korean entertainment among Malaysians are. I happened to keep Winter Sonata songs in my laptop so I played them. She was surprised, then my travelling mates Kudin and Annam began with their Korean artists chapter, which I had no idea what they were talking about. We were then taking turns playing music videos supposedly from our homeland. So I think you could have guessed already, we played this particular Ahli Fiqir music video to them, although the band actually comes from Singapore instead of Malaysia. We had a couple of more conversations that night and later called it a day. Ended was an exchange of cultural ideas. I think, based on this direct encounter with the Jews, I had a general idea of what they are like as well. To me, as a people (so it seems), they must be genetically predisposed to a certain traits and characters. And Malays also play by this rule.

Hi. My name is Amir. My 16-year-old brother, whose name is Hakim, has beeen pestering me to promote his "virtual shops". Glad that he found something to be enthusiastic about, regardless of what. Maybe you can make a good businessman someday, Hakim, haha. I myself was a computer nerd at his age.

And now, he has additional things to say about "his products":

Our screen printing technology allows us to create quadrichromic (up to photorealistic) inprints on white and colored garments (even dark or black ones).

All our products are sun and water resistant: you can wash them as many times as you want without alteration …

Usually this kind of technology is not available for on demand production without a minimum quantity order (around 15 pieces) but we have developed a special software and a dedicated process that allows us to offer you and your customers this quality from a single t-shirt ordered!

We are so confident in our products quality that every order made on Comboutique are money back guarantee if you’re not fully satisfied!

Order over 15 products (multiple sizes are ok) and get huge discounts (up to 35%) !

You have the right to change your mind ! If in a lapse of 14 days after you place your order, you are not satisfied with our products, for whatever reason, we will refund you for your purchase.
Anyway, I warned you Hakim, nobody reads my blog anyway. Hahaha.

Besides his native English, Obama speaks Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), at least on a colloquial level, which he learned during his four childhood years in Jakarta. After the APEC summit in November 2008, Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono related a telephone conversation with Obama in Indonesian to Indonesian media. Obama had told Yudhoyona that he missed Indonesian food like Nasi Goreng (!), Bakso (!)or Rambutan.

Just got back from the Hochschule. Managed to survive two lectures today, which, in the spirit of recent inspiration, I tried to give my best attention to. All I can say is, concentration is something that I have to work on constantly, since beginning to snore is easy, when attending lectures means to you a dreaded multitasking . First, find the relation(s) between understood uttered words. Second, make sure that the outcome makes any sense to you. Digestion only comes then in the third place, and the process repeats itself again and again. So much for learning in a third language, although it is now comparatively easier.

Actually I'd like to write about the subject of "causality", something that I have thought about lately. It began when I read a report on Al-Jazeera's website about Tun Mahathir's condemnation of US for supporting Israel in the Gaza war. I've always been interested in what Tun has to say concerning matters, and therefore, what makes him tick. To me and probably many other people, his reasoning is almost always satisfying, at least on the surface. And in this particular news report, I think he was using causality to justify his case.

He's making his case in the following paragraph:

Malaysia's former prime minister has blamed the US for backing Israeli military aggression against Palestinians in Gaza, saying it makes the US "much more guilty than even the Israelis".
Setting forth that the US is the cause of Israel's boldness in their waging of war against Palestinians:
"The backing by the US gives it encouragement to do all these things which I think ordinary Americans would not like to see them do," Mahathir said in an interview with Al Jazeera.
"Israelis believe it they go to war there is this big brother that is going to come with the weapons, with the money, so they don’t care what the world thinks."
And for the Israeli boldness to cease, the US has to stop extending their undivided support to Israel. Tun Mahathir sees that it can only happen through economic means (cause of the US' ability to extend support) which is by the boycott of American dollar.
He also suggested a boycott of the greenback as a way to pressure the US, saying that if the US is impoverished "it cannot undertake all these aggressive acts".
It isn't much but I think if we can thoroughly apply the concept to solve our day-to-day problems, life would be easier.

Wikipedia's take on causality: "Causality denotes a necessary relationship between one event (called cause) and another event (called effect) which is the direct consequence (result) of the first."

It's early in the morning and you could guess, even my heater-equipped room can send the shiver (literally) down my spine. I wonder what the figure of temperature in minus celsius there outside is at this time.

Actually I've got things to do, like, revising stuffs? Am I not exemplary, haha. Let's see what I can do before class kicks-off at 8.

p/s: reminded of the 1st anniversary living in Germany.

So... I'm writing a new blog, huh? For the millionth time, I'm just pursuing a practice which has seemed to persist in the last few years I think. And since I don't have to worry about people making a fuss about this eccentric hobby of mine (who reads my blog anyway?), I'd like to move to somewhere new. Moreover, I reckon my blogging activity needed some kind of invigoration as a result of an, blogging-wise, unproductive year. What better way to do that than to... move. :)

It's a new year and to many people, it is the beginning of something new. Many have made their resolutions for the months ahead and I wish them good luck for that.

For me it's about getting back to class tomorrow and really knuckle down to what is expected of me in the upcoming semester exams. There are a total of 10 subjects that I have to take care of this semester, which is in a way pretty overwhelming, so to say. But if other people have survived it before, that sounds good 'enuff. You don't want to go down in history as the first victim of academic casualty.

Just got back from a trip to Italy lately. I would like to think that the trip has taught me a couple of new things, as well as inspiring me to work harder for the future. Rome alone was mind-blowing in terms of the height of civilization that it once represented. Maybe I'll write further on that sometime.

Till then.
